- Default Players can only be upgraded through game performances, awards, and contracts.
- Default Players start with 550 total stat points and cannot exceed 1,000 total stat points.
- Default Players will always have 80 in Potential, since it is up to the General Managers to upgrade them and they can only have a max of 1,000 total stat points.
- Default Players can only be upgraded by the General Manager that owns him at that upgrade time.
